CareerSource Launch Preview

Beginning early next year, the Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board  will rebrand its regional one stop Career Centers from Southwest Florida Works to CareerSource Southwest Florida as part of a new statewide brand campaign to better align Florida’s nationally recognized workforce system and improve customer awareness and use of the system’s services and resources.

The new CareerSource Florida brand is represented by a colorful orange, blue and green logo.  The name and logo are the result of six months of market research and a collaborative process involving more than 1,500 stakeholders — from job seekers and businesses to regional workforce board leaders, frontline workforce professionals and strategic partners.  The CareerSource Florida name and logo was the overwhelming top choice among Floridians and businesses surveyed.

  1. In many communities there are job help groups that provide longer term help to people looking for a job. These groups meet weekly, provide a networking forum for the participants, and encouragement to them on their job search. Sometimes they are based in churches but they might also be sponsored by a Lions Club, the local Chamber of Commerce, or some other organization.

Are there groups like this meeting in Lee County and can you provide a list of their meeting times and places?

  2. Curt Bradbury says:

Southwest Florida Works, soon to be CareerSource Southwest Florida, does not offer any of the job help groups you are referring to, other than our Orientation Sessions at each of our centers. There is a website,, that does list some of these type of groups that meet in Southwest Florida. I found one group, Southwest Florida Jobhunters Career and Employment Assistance, that may be of some assistance.

  3. Thank you
